Biography
A New York based musician and writer, Alan Licht has spanned the worlds of indie rock, experimental music, and sound installation, known for his involvement in the bands Love Child, Run On and the Blue Humans as well as brief stints with Yoko Ono, Tom Verlaine and Arthur Lee. In 2001 he and Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo co-founded Text of Light, an ensemble dedicated to combining music improvisation with screenings of avant-garde cinema. A frequent contributor to Artforum and other publications, Licht is the editor of?Will Oldham on Bonnie Prince Billy?(Faber & Faber/W.W. Norton, 2012), and the author of?Sound Art: Beyond Music, Between Media, (Rizzoli, 2007). |
